Privacy notice and terms of use

Who's responsible for your information
The controller is Ajay Singh, sole trader, trading as Glasgow Home Conversions. ICO registration number: ZC284176.
To ask about your data, or anything else here, email [email protected].
What I collect
Only what you enter on the enquiry form:
- the postcode of the home
- what you're planning, the type of home, and whether you own it and can approve the work
- your rough budget and when you'd like to start
- up to three photos, if you add them
- your name, email address and phone number
- whether you ticked each consent box, and which page you sent the form from
If you tell the form you don't own the home and can't approve the work, it stops and nothing is sent to me.
Photos travel as email attachments with your enquiry. Have a look at what's in the shot before you add one. A photo of a roof is fine. A photo with a family picture or a letter in view is better retaken.
What I do with it, and why that's lawful
I pass your enquiry to one independent firm that works in your area, so they can contact you about your plans. The lawful basis is your consent, given when you tick the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing me. I won't share your details again after that, but I can't recall what a firm has already received.
The optional follow-up
A second box on the form is left blank unless you tick it. If you do, I may email or phone you later to ask how things went: did the firm get in touch, turn up, and stick to what they said? It helps me decide who keeps getting enquiries.
I won't publish what you say, or your name, unless I ask you separately and you agree.
If you leave the box blank you won't hear from me about this. If you tick it and change your mind, reply to the follow-up or email [email protected]. This consent stands apart from the first, so you can withdraw either one by itself. Any follow-up happens while I still hold your enquiry, which is 12 months at most.
Who else sees your details
One firm that works in your area. Once they've received your enquiry, they're responsible for how they use it, under their own privacy notice. I don't sell your details or give them to anyone else.
The site and form run on Cloudflare, which takes each submission and emails it to my inbox, hosted by Google (Gmail). There's no database of enquiries. Either company may handle data outside the UK, in which case UK data protection law requires safeguards to be in place.
How long I keep it
Up to 12 months, then it's deleted. I may keep a count of enquiries by area and month, with nothing in it that identifies you.
Your rights
You're entitled to see what I hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Email [email protected] and I'll reply within one month. If your enquiry has already gone to a firm, I'll tell you which one so you can ask them too.
If you're unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Visits may be counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or track you across other sites.
Terms of use
- A matching service, not a builder. Glasgow Home Conversions doesn't carry out, check, supervise or guarantee any work. Any contract is between you and the firm.
- Firms are independent. They aren't employed by, vetted by or accredited by this site. Ask about insurance, guarantees and past work before you agree to anything.
- Free to you. Firms pay a fee when they're introduced. Sending an enquiry costs you nothing and you don't have to accept a quote.
- General information only. Prices come from the published guides named beside them and aren't quotes. What's said here about planning, building warrants and title deeds is general information, not professional advice. Each rule links to its source. Check it, and speak to the council or a professional about your own home.
- No promise of cover. There may not always be a firm free in your area, or able to start when you'd like.
- Other websites. Links to councils, gov.scot and others are there to help. I'm not responsible for what those sites say.
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland.
